Icahn ups chain in Motorola to 7.6%.
Billionaire investor Carl Icahn on Wednesday reported raising his involvement in to 7.6 percent from 6.4 percent. Icahn beneficially owns about 172.18 million shares of the Schaumburg cellphone maker, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Icahn in days of old reported holding about 144.56 million Motorola shares in last March. In originally April, Icahn agreed to end his proxy battle for seats on the Motorola put up after the company agreed to seat candidate Keith Meister and let another nominee, William Hambrecht, coppice for election. Icahn also dropped his lawsuit seeking access to crucial board documents.
